
Swainby Show Sunday August 30th
Sunday the 30th was a fine sunny day and we managed a good turnout of cars despite lots of other events taking place on the same day. The Northern National at Pateley Bridge
A dozen MG’s met at a dull and overcast Bowburn Services for the ride down to Pateley Bridge for the annual Northern National MG Show organised by the Harrogate MG Owners Club. We joined a further dozen cars on the Durham stand at the show. The Newest MG the XS
Pateley Bridge was full of suprises, for me the most interesting was the new MG XS. A pre-production example caused a lot of interest although it was badged a ZS the production ones, which should be available in October, will be badged XS. While the exact engine options have yet to be confirmed, it's understood that the XS will have a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol as the main option, a diesel alternative is likely to be offered. The Flaxton Barbecue
A week after the Northern National on the 13th August we had another lovely day meeting up with friends from S. Yorkshire MG Club in the market place at Easingwold for what has become our annual barbeque in Flaxton near York. We had 44 people turn up for the truly gourmet banquet of a barbeque, with farm fresh salad and delicious burgers, chicken and tasty sausages.
