
Ryhope Engines End of Season Show
Sunday 29th October saw the end of season show at Ryhope. Lovely sunshine was the order of the day but it didn't last long as we had a few light showers but it didn't dishearten us as we made our way round the vehicles as there were some really nice cars on show. The Autumn Foliage Run
Sunday the 8th of October. It was bright and sunny as 15 MG’s and other cars assembled at Bowburn Services for the run which headed out towards Durham before passing through Tow Law and a short journey up the A68 to Muggleswick. After a very autumnal ride through delightful narrow tree lined lanes over to Edmundbyers and then into Blanchland in Northumberland where we had a welcome stop at the Monks Tearoom for a coffee. Houghton Feast Parade
Every year Houghton has a week of celebrations culminating in the roasting of an ox. I and a number of other club members have taken part in the parade through the town for a number of years in support of this ancient tradition. Nent Hall Weekend
We had the whole of the Nent Hall Hotel booked for the weekend of the 8/9/10th of September and 33 members of the Durham and South Yorkshire clubs joined forces for the weekend that was organised by Reg Barrett, Dave Sandersfield and Steve Overall. The Tom Hall Memorial Run
17 cars turned up at Bowburn Services for the start of the Memorial Run, this was an all new route devised by Dave Sandersfield and Tony Quinn. The cars left Bowburn and headed towards Ferryhill and Crook after an interesting run through a very picturesque Hamsterly Forest on the forest drive we eventually arrived at the lunch stop in Aldborough St John and the Stanwick Arms for their very tasty Sunday Carvery.
