Sunday the 8th July was forecast to be warm and sunny and it didn’t disappoint. Seventeen cars and their lucky owners responded to what is now an annual invitation from Durham University for a relaxing day out in a beautiful setting at the Durham Botanic Gardens.
The passing public enjoying the gardens thought the cars looked well in the setting, Rod Anderson gave them a voting slip and asked them to vote for their favourite car. After lunch and a casual wander round the quite extensive gardens the voting slips were counted and three cars were so close that prizes were presented to all three.
So congratulations to Harry Herbert, Ian Tunnicliffe and Mike Forbes for their winning cars. Many thanks to Ray Rickaby for organising the event and also to all who attended what is one of our nicest events of the year.
